“Freedom 251” is the world’s cheapest smartphone and it’s more affordable than the simplest phone that exists. At $4 only u can have your own smartphone.

Ringing Bells, an Indian company has made everyone’s dreams come true. A smartphone for everyone, you can say that again. This is more than the word affordable! Shipments for the $4 phones are already on the way.

“Freedom 251” is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and internal memory of 8GB. This 3G phone supports up to 32GB external memory as well. The phone has a primary camera of 8MP with flash, while the selfie camera is 3.2MP. It contains a 1,800 mAh battery and will run on Android Lollipop.
The phones will be available in  black and white. And will have all Google Apps required to run the software installed in it.

Ringing Bells developed its $4 Android phone in the thick of disputes, when it first mentioned in February that it would release the low-cost smartphone soon. At the time, most people did not take it seriously.

They have over 70 million registrations for these smartphones. So much work for them. However, they plan to complete the first delivery phase before  registrations open again.

The CEO, Mohit Goel, said that the company loses about $2 on every handset they manufacture. But despite that, he is hopeful that they will be able to make money out of these phones through bulk sales. He also believes that the demand will continue to soar due to its low cost.

The greatest challenge will be experienced at the level of shipment.
The company now plans to ship 200,000 units of Freedom 251 each month in order to fulfill the demand.

With fingers crossed we hope the Freedom 251 will function as promised. Still trying to figure out and simmer the thoughts of how the world’s cheapest smartphone can be produced and sold at $4?
