Tech-based startups which provide agricultural services, stand a chance of winning prizes up to EUR15,000 (US$16,750) by Applying for the Pitch Agrihack.

The Pitch AgriHack competition is a new component of the AgriHack Talent program hosted by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA). It is also held in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), and supported by numerous partners .

The program is open to entrepreneurs under 35 years old, who already have a developed e-agriculture/ICT4Ag application or platform. Also, the young ICT startups must be from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, offering services to the agriculture sector.

The program which will run from the 22nd to 24th November in Nairobi Kenya, will include the following activities:

  • a training session (bootcamp) that will strengthen capacity of the young entrepreneurs
  • a pitching competition for participating start-ups and entrepreneurs
  • opportunities to consolidate, pilot or upscale their platforms and services through grants or additional incubation or acceleration

Startups which will be selected for the competition will be invited to join a business training bootcamp prior to participating in the pitching event, both to take place.

The application deadline is 25th September.

The winners at the Pitch AgriHack event will receive a cash prize of up to EUR15,000 (US$16,750) to help them improve their services. However, there will be investment and capacity building opportunities that may be facilitated by stakeholders involved
