University of Buea students go on strike to have their voices heard. They have embarked on an indefinite strike action on Monday, November 27 2016. The disgruntled students marched to the Central Administration building, in an attempt to put an end to irregularities. News about the imminent strike had been circulating throughout last weekend, especially after the Vice Chancellor released a surprise continuous assessment time-table.

Social media and SMS were used to circulate the reasons why the students had to strike, as well as bring out the justifications for such an action. This comes at the heels of the Bamenda strike which further puts the country in general, in an uneasy state. Worthy of note is the fact that the students have expressed no intention of being violent throughout the strike period.

Below are screenshots of a couple of messages disseminated by SMS, calling on the students to take up a strike to resolve their issues.
