The Spanish Ambassador to Cameroon, Jorge De Orueta Pemartin in a move to support the ministry of sports and Physical Education, has handed over a consignment of sports equipment to the Ministry.

These sport equipment were handed over to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Bidoung Mkpatt. This activity took place on Friday September 2, at a ceremony at the the Yaounde Sports Complex.

The sports equipment comprise of balls, jerseys and training equipment. Moreover, these gifts were offered by the three leading Spanish clubs, Athletico Madrid, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. According to the Spanish ambassador, the aim behind this gesture is to assist Cameroon in the organization of the 2016 and 2019 AFCONs.

Minister Bidoung Mkpatt on his part expressed gratitude to the Spanish government saying that the gift is a hallmark in Spanish-Cameroon relations in the domain of sports. He added that the equipment which comprise balls, jerseys, videos, books and other training kits will enable the national selections prepare well for the 2016 and 2019 AFCONs.
