Cameroon announced yesterday that the 4G network will soon be expanded to the seaside tourist town of in the South Region. Since December 2015, the LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology has been available in the towns of Yaounde, Douala, Buea and Bamenda. The people of Kribi are the next set also benefit from the extremely fast 4G network.

As reported by, MTN has invested close to CFA 60 billion in developing the network over eight months and is the first operator to launch the technology in Cameroon. About 50 percent of the company’s close to 10 million subscribers are covered by 4G network . In the near future, four more cities will benefit from LTE .

The world is in the Age. This age requires transactions to happen in the shortest time possible. The Fourth Generation (4G) Network provides a completely different experience to users of mobile technology, as access to information is very fast. If the other network providers in the country also upgrade to the 4G network, in a sense, Cameroon would be technologically prepared for its emergence.
