The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defeated the Panthers of Gabon by 2-1 yesterday, 06 September at the Omnisport stadium, Limbe, in the qualifiers for the AFCON 2017 and the 2018 World Cup. We could see great synergy in the team as the young players that constitute the Cameroon National Team had total control of the game. It is worth noting that football encounters between the two countries are always full of emotions and dynamism.
64 minutes into the match, the captain Moukandjo made a free kick, which Anatole Abang took advantage of and scored the first goal. The second goal of the match was by the Panthers. During the 74th minute, Guelor Kanga Kaku equalized the match with a free kick that passed through the mounted human wall and embraced the Cameroonian net. It was close to the end of the match, (92 minutes) that Salli Edgar granted his team the needed victory with the second goal.
Both teams have qualified for the next African cup of nations.
The last meeting between the two friendly countries was in January 2010, a battle that ended without a score. But nevertheless, the lions proved their worth and came out victorious this time. Congratulations to the Lions! Cameroonians have your full support. Go ahead Lions!
