Projected results say the 39 years old, centrist candidate Emanuel Macron finally defeats Marine Le Pen and taken over as the next president of France.
Mr Macrone makes history being the youngest president of France at 39 who defeated Le Pen by about 65% to 35% to succeed Holand.
Amid massive security, supporters of the president-elect gathered today in central Paris celebrating their hard-earned success.
Macron told the press, ”a new chapter of hope and confidence is opening”.
President Francoise Holand, Macron’s predecessor congratulated him for his milestone and said the result showed the French people wanted to unite around the “values of the republic”.
Ms Le Pen congratulated Mr Macron in a cordial telephone conversation. She wished Mr Macron success in tackling the “huge challenges” facing him.
