The Ethiopian government has made a drastic decision to block social networking sites. The government acknowledges the fact that social networking sites have made it easy for people to communicate with each other. But social networking activities can bring a host of problems to authorities in a bit to control the flow of information between people.
Apparently, social networks exist to distract students and enable exam malpractice (which was obviously not happening before the people of Ethiopia discovered the internet) so the solution is to block access to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Viber until exams are over.
This a brilliant idea put in place by the Ethiopian government but students being smart as they have always been might switch to the possible next reliable alternatives. To know more about this decision click here
