AYISSI NGA Joseph-Marie aka #JJ DU STYLE is a Franco-Cameroonian fashion designer who creates very chic street wear. He’s a proud Lycee Beyemassi Yaounde ex-student whose father was a tailor. He decided to follow in the footsteps of pioneer Cameroonian fashion designers like Imane Ayissi and Martial Topolo by creating his own clothing line called ‘WAZAL‘, launched in 2005.
This young fashion entrepreneur (an afro hustler) went through a professional training in VANESSA RUIZ fashion school in Paris and specialized in making Tuxedo Jackets. The name and concept ‘WAZAL‘ is a combination of “WAZA” from the WAZA national park reserve in Cameroon and “L”, from the letter ‘L’ in ‘LION”, which is the mascot of Cameroon. According to AYISSI NGA Joseph-Marie, the Natural Park symbolizes ‘#Respect’ and the Lion symbolizes ‘Power’.

Let’s talk about the trendy OVA TETE collection which has gained recognition due to its uniqueness and magnificent in appearance. This collection is inspired by a Cameroonian slang ‘ova’ which means bigger and noble person. Tété refers to chic and bourgeois. In addition, the word chic here is used to describe the amazing and modern appearance of the clothings. Therefore those who have good taste and know how to dress fashionably are characterized as chic.
AYISSI NGA Joseph-Marie disclosed that he uses African prints (wax) also called African print especially from Cameroon, Senegal, and Mali, and Bazin. These are substances found in Senegal or Mali.
Like any other Cameroonian in the diaspora, Ayissi believes in Cameroon as he has representatives in Cameroon who represent the Wazal brand in Cameroon. To add to this he has also opened a sewing workshop in Yaounde to share his knowledge, ideas and train young Cameroonians.
