Solar technology is on the rise and no one is willing to standby and watch the marvels accompanying this breakthrough. In 2014 Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, the famous Black American rapper, popularly known as took a decision to  direct his efforts to provide to remote villages on the African continent.

Through his charity “Akon Lighting Africa” 600 African lives have been impacted by providing electricity through solar energy to schools, community houses, health centres, household, etc.

This initiative has also brought about local jobs, especially for the young people in the communities in the areas of equipment installation and maintenance.

Even the non-tech people understand that technology is the sector requiring the greatest portion of the annual investment budget of any country, particularly in Africa.
