Cameroon: Eto’o and Moukandjo Nominated for African Player of the Year

Samuel Eto'o and Moukandjo nominated as african player of the year

Samuel Eto’o Fils and Benjamin Mounkandjo have both been nominated for the 2016 CAF African player of the year.

Samuel Eto’o Fils plays as a striker for Turkish club Antalyaspor. He has won the African player of the year award four times. In in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. On the other hand is Benjamin Moukandjo, who has played for the Indomitable Lions for five years. He is presently the captain of the Indomitable Lions.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards is a yearly ritual instituted to honor footballers and personalities who have excelled in various departments of the game as well as making meaningful contributions to its development in the continent.

The awards which dates back to 1970 when the best African Footballer of the Year was recognized, has expanded to other categories with the inclusion of women footballers for their enormous contribution to the game.
