History is defined as the study of past events as described in written documents. Inspired by this definition it’s important for the world to pause and try to study what’s unfolding in the USA on the event of the election of Donald Trump as the 45th president. In the USA dates are written in the format – month/day/year. If one were to consider this seriously, then today (11/9) should ring a bell. It would be good for us to reflect on what happened on 9/11.
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 a.m. on a clear Tuesday morning, an American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The collision caused a massive explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. America was under attack.
It is believed that on that September 11 (9/11), 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
The tragedy often referred to as 9/11 resulted in extensive death and destruction, triggering major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters.
The attackers were Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations. Reportedly financed by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist organization, they were allegedly acting in retaliation for America’s support of Israel, its involvement in the Persian Gulf War and its continued military presence in the Middle East.
If playing with numbers ever has any significance in determining the outcome of an event, then now is the time for the world to put on its thinking cap. November 11 (11/9) is the arrangement of 9/11. Donald Trump, the controversial candidate in the US 2016 election became president-elect of the US to November 11. Should one have to ponder on Trump’s campaing promises in this election, then there is no doubt he could be the trigger man.
Some Americans have even described the today as Americas’s worst night mare comparing it to 9/11. Trump has become president of the most powerful nation on earth. This means his actions can seriously impact the world’s political pressure. If Trump is to serve his presidency as described in his promises, he would surely drive the world into maddened corners, thereby resurrecting actions akin to those of 9/11. And if that happens to be the case, history would only be repeating itself in another way round, that is 9/11 changing to 11/9.
Only time will tell.
